Our vision and strategy
Our vision is to work together with the people of Surrey Heartlands to improve health and care services.
We want Surrey Heartlands to be a prosperous and healthy place with a high quality health and care system that is sustainable for the long term.
We plan to do this by:
- Supporting and enabling people in Surrey Heartlands to be healthier
- Providing high quality and accessible care for those who need it
- Creating partnerships that work better for the people we serve and those who provide care
We’ve set ourselves this ambition by 2022.
We recognise our strategy will be constantly evolving and intend to update this document in autumn 2019 following submission of our five year plan to NHS England (which details how we will be implementing the NHS Long-Term Plan).
We know that by integrating (‘joining-up’) local services, moving decision-making from a national to a local level through our devolution agreement and working in collaboration with local people, we can achieve much greater benefits for our community and improve the financial sustainability of our system.
We will give greater emphasis to prevention, early intervention, and tackling the wider determinants of health.
The strategy also describes how we will develop our system in order to deliver this plan, working much more collaboratively, both across Surrey and through our local Integrated Care Partnerships.
We will be implementing this strategy in line with our agreed values and behaviours, with clinical, professional and citizen input at the forefront.
