Surrey Heartlands ICS is seen as the most innovative and impactful health and social care partnership in country.

Colleagues from all sectors are working to integrate services around our residents, patients and communities. We have an ambitious set of plans to address people’s health and wellbeing, making sure that we can support them in the most outstanding clinical settings but also ensure that we have excellent prevention and early intervention programmes to stop needs escalating to acute settings. We are passionate about working together to address the determinants of poor health and reduce the inequalities that exist. To do that we know we have to work in partnership and that means creating joint roles, empowered by all organisations to achieve joined up projects and programmes.

These roles are critical for helping us find solutions for some of the big problems that we face. We know that we’ve got to deliver strategic and practical solutions to tackle the critical and rising people shortages that we have in health, care and community services. We need to attract and retain the best talent and that means also having to support them to live in our communities with housing support and childcare solutions around them. We know that as public sector organisations we have significant land and assets and by bringing those together and realising their value we can help generate new models of care and be bold about our digital and community offer, not relying on building that aren’t fit for the future. As a set of partners we have made strong progress in reimagining how the application of technology, digital and data can impact the lives of our residents but we need to go further and faster together.

All of these roles rely on strong influencing capabilities as well as a willingness to work flexibly across sectors and communities to find solutions. We need these role holders to network their way into the NHS and local and central government to attract resources. We need people that are agile and can work outside traditional organisational structures and be expert in finding practical solutions that can accelerate agreed strategies.
